Do you consider the reliability of a car manufacturer when purchasing a car?

If you’ve dealt with a car that broke down unexpectedly in the past, reliability might be high on your list. So, maybe you opt for an U.S.-made car. At least that’s what 40% of respondents said they think is the most reliable in a new study conducted by The Simple Dollar

They found that although 54% of Americans believe Toyota and Honda are the most reliable car brands (both are Japanese-made), the majority (40%) of respondents also believe cars made in the U.S. are the most reliable.

However, based on the 2019 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study by J.D. Power, the countries that manufacture the most reliable vehicles are the opposite of what the surveyed Americans think. In fact, Germany´s automotive industry manufactures the most reliable vehicles in the world.

Is this patriotism over pragmatism? You be the judge.
